Carrier settings updating

I’ve updated My iPhone 7 to IOS 15.7 and now it’s lost the mobile network. I’m still connected to a Wi-Fi network, but the phone keeps searching in vain. settings confirms there’s a mobile data ‘issue’ but there’s no option to update network carrier settings. My network provider will send me updated carrier settings but I can’t receive these via SMS because *there’s no network connection*! A bit of a catch-22.

no option to manually enter carrier settings either.

any help?

Remove and reinsert the SIM card.

If it doesn't help contact your carrier, maybe the SIM card is damaged, ask for a replaced (new) card. Normally it is free.

Als ask them to check if the SIM tray is bent, as even a tiny misalignment can cause the SIM card to not fully connect with the internal contacts in your iPhone.

I’ve been to all these destinations. Unfortunately, it’s not possible to update manually, as there is no option to do that in the settings->About-> Mobile Data area

the other options don’t work, and the Apple Centre is too far away to be of any help.

the network provider will happily send the new settings via SMS but I can’t receive them!
