My iPhone 12 has no carrier services after updating to iOS 17.4.1

My iPhone 12 no longer has any carrier service after updating to iOS 17.4.1. I went through all the troubleshooting on my own and with Verizon. They had me remove my sim and set up an eSIM. Reset network settings, etc etc. it goes between no bars and SOS. They say it is an apple issue and won’t help anymore.

Where do I find carrier settings? Since updating to IOS 16.4 I have little to no cellular service. If I turn Flight mode on & back off I get full service for a few minutes before the bars of service start flicking up & down & finish up on one bar where it remains. I've been to Apple service counter who were stumped & suggested I replace the SIM. Got a new Sim & problem is the same. Updated to IOS 16.5, same problem. Swapped SIM with my partner, (who's on the same mobile plan & his service is fine), my SIM had full mobile service in his phone, & I had almost no service with his SIM in my phone. Safe to say it's an iPhone issue not mobile service issue. So now I don't know what to try next & would welcome any ideas. Any one else had the same issue?

Carrier settings updating I’ve updated My iPhone 7 to IOS 15.7 and now it’s lost the mobile network. I’m still connected to a Wi-Fi network, but the phone keeps searching in vain. settings confirms there’s a mobile data ‘issue’ but there’s no option to update network carrier settings. My network provider will send me updated carrier settings but I can’t receive these via SMS because *there’s no network connection*! A bit of a catch-22. no option to manually enter carrier settings either. any help?

All apple told me was to send it in to get it fixed

I'm not paying for a software issue and my phone is cracked so them might try to charge me for that too.
