Wifi to connect MacBook

My MacBook won’t connect to the wifi, keeps saying no IP address then when I go to to setting and do it, it connects but unconnects and I have to put the password every second it pops up and I just bought this laptop TODAY!

Self assigned IP address and no network Hi everyone! last night I updated my macbook to the most recent software update, and since doing that my WIFI will not connect to my mac, every time I go into Network it appears with "no IP address" of "self assigned IP address". I spent the entire night researching and trying all of the suggestions but nothing seems to be working. I have been deleted the folders under system preferences, I have turned the router off and back off, added a new location and renewed the DCHP lease. i'm guessing that there is something to do with the software update because I have never had the issue before. Does anyone know how to fix this please??

Take it back, you have 14 days for a "free" return with no questions asked. You can then get another.
