Self assigned IP address and no network

Hi everyone!

last night I updated my macbook to the most recent software update, and since doing that my WIFI will not connect to my mac, every time I go into Network it appears with "no IP address" of "self assigned IP address".

I spent the entire night researching and trying all of the suggestions but nothing seems to be working. I have been deleted the folders under system preferences, I have turned the router off and back off, added a new location and renewed the DCHP lease.

i'm guessing that there is something to do with the software update because I have never had the issue before. Does anyone know how to fix this please??
