Issue with the home pod mini.
Does anyone have the problem with the home pod playing and entirely different song than the one I ask for? Thanks. Chris

It can happen. Do you have a subscription to Apple Music? Sometimes it is enough to give a more complete request, e.g. "Hey Siri, play <song> by <artist>" or "Hey Siri, play <song> by <artist> from <album or playlist>". For really tricky ones I might create a playlist that can be called up more easily.

Many thanks. Yea I just subscribed. This never happens with my Alexa devices. Just like Apple to make you pay for a service you don’t need so a device works. Getting a bit tired of it. I might return the mini. Seems like a waste of money. Thanks again. Chris
On its own Siri on HomePod is limited to your unhidden purchase history in the iTunes Store. With a subscription to Apple Music you can access all of your iCloud Music library including ripped music and playlists, along with almost anything else that is available in the iTunes Store.

Hey I folded and subscribed to Apple Music and all is well. Works great. Also figured out Air Play as well. Many thanks for your advice. Sound is great just wish it had a battery and did not need to be plugged in. That will probably the next improvement. Best Chris
You can use AirPlay if you don't want to pay for Apple Music (see Use AirPlay to stream audio - Apple Support) but Apple Music gives the device the most flexibility.

Thanks for the advice. As I said yet another tying arrangement form Apple. It’s getting a bit tedious. That should be disclosed when the devise is purchased.
You're welcome. 🙂
