iTunes

Hi,

being a newbie here I want to ask a question about iTunes. I am not native speaking English so pardon for my language mistakes.

I want to set a song as a ringtone on my iPhone Xr. My iOS is version 15.5 and Windows version is 11. In the past it was very simple to set a song as a ringtone. Selecting song, use options to set max of 40 seconds, convert to AAC, open in Windows Explorer and change extension from m4a to m4r no problem.

However when I then want to delete the short version from library I do not get the choice to keep file or remove it at all. If I click on delete whole file gone and cannot send m4r to library and from there to tones on my phone. Have removed and installed iTunes several times using Microsoft Store. Tried to get it from Apple directly but was forwarded to Microsoft Store. I checked preferences but nowhere I can change/adapt delete option.

Any suggestions?

Hello Rob1706, Maybe this Apple Support page on Ring Tones will help.
