No column for flag in Mac mail in Monterey

Repeating someone else's problem. Monterey doesn't seem to permit inserting a column in Mac mail that displays emails that are flagged. It can sort by flags, but you can't see them in the mail display.

Control/Right click in the header area and choose Flags.

Mac mail flag count wrong after Ventura upgrade After upgrading to Ventura, my Mac Mail flag count is wrong (by a lot!) This is on an M1 24" iMac. I am running Ventura 13.1. Note that this also happened with previous versions of Ventura. Please do not suggest rebuilding my mailbox, because that function doesn't work either, for some reason. See photo below. Mac Mail flags issue For over a year I have had an irritating problem with mail flags on my lasptop. I occasionally used flags of different colours to keep track of certain messages across mailboxes. the problem, is that when I unflag a message, although the flag disappears the 'counter' next to the flags label in the left column does not update. In the screenshot below, although there are no flagged messages anywhere in my system the flag still shows 4! This has persisted across multiple software updates including to Ventura. It doesn't affect my use, it just offends me :-) I have used the rebuild mailboxes option with no effect. Any body got a solution. I'm a veteran Mac user of 34 years

Monterey On new apple mail, i seem not to be able to apply "flags". When I click nothing changes ont he header of the incoming mail. There are those annoying blue dots saying new mail, but no colored flags appear. What am I missing here? I thought for a minute that Apple had cancelled "flags" altogether, but no it is still there in the top of the page. Thank you.
