Sorting in Apple Music not working

I frequently sort my music in the Music app by clicking the column heading (e.g. title or artist). However recently, clicking the column heading isn't working anymore. When I click the column heading the entire column is shaded for about a second. But it no longer sorts. If I click it multiple times, it will sort occasionally but I lose my place in the list.

How do I fix this? Or is there another way we have to sort our music lists now?

This has been happening for awhile and I'm not aware of having done anything specific.

Will View > Sort By help you out?

Note the screenshot shows a list sorted by title in reverse order. The chevron should reverse the sort. For Artist you could also try sorting on Sort Album Artist or Sort Artist.

Try holding down option+cmd as you launch Music which will open it in its safe mode. This may sometimes help with this type of issue.

There is no issue with the sorting - the chevron does alternate when it is clicked on - but it will turn the column gray first, and usually takes about 2 to 3 clicks before the chevron actually flips
