Can I Retrieve A File I Lost By Saving An Updated File

Question

I wanted to rename a numbers file after I revised it. I lost the initial file. Can I retrieve that initial file or is it lost?

MacBook Air (2020 or later)

Try File > Revert to ...

If that doesn't work then go to your Time Machine backup.

(If you are not using Time Machine or another backup system then now is the time to start!)

Unfortunately too often in situations where a backup is needed, the day before was the time to start.
