Erasing iPad by find my iphone
If it says that it was erased x amount of minutes ago on find my iPhone, does that mean it is for sure erased?

You you will only see an on-screen confirmation of device erasure if the remote instruction to wipe the iPad has been received and acknowledged by the target device.
Insofar as is possible, without actually recovering the device, receipt of this message provides a high degree of confidence that the erase was successful.
