AirPrint prints blank pages
AirPrint prints blank pages on my wireless Brother HL-1210W printer from my MacBook Air M1 BigSur 11.2.1. Brother advised to use AirPrint for MacOs 11. Has anyone found a solution for a similar problem? Thanks.

Hi,
The HL-1210W does not appear to be mentioned in About AirPrint - Apple Support as a printer supporting the driverless AirPrint technology. There may be some exceptions, but most AirPrint printers should be in this list.
Brother says (for macOS Big Sur): "We recommend using AirPrint. If your machine does not support AirPrint, download Brother iPrint&Scan from the App Store."

Are you using the latest firmware version?
If necessary, you could perhaps carry out a test with the macOS Catalina 10.15 printer driver (1.5.0), after resetting the printing system and re-adding the printer. There have been some examples where other models could use this driver (albeit not supported) under macOS Big Sur. This would be purely experimental. Software conflicts cannot be ruled out. You may have to erase and reinstall everything on the computer. Data may be lost. It may not work at all. So, unless you know exactly what you are doing, do not proceed with this. In any case, make sure that you have multiple backup copies of important files.

Hi,
Thanks for your reply and suggestions.
Yes, the printer's firmware is the latest version (1.17).
I'll try out the macOS Catalina 10.15 printer driver (1.5.0). Hope it'll work.
Hi Jan,
Issue resolved by using the printer driver for macOS Catalina 10.15 as you advised.
Thanks very much for your help.
Hello STH59,
You're welcome! Good news. Glad to hear that it worked.
Kind regards,
Jan
