Apple watch

My Apple Watch does not turn on automatically when I raise my wrist & sometimes when I press the Digital Crown button to view my screen, the screen will not light up. All I get is a very faint view of my clock & the I have to wait about 20 - 30 seconds to try again. Anyone know why? I just got my watch for Christmas 2020 & it was fine up until 5 days ago

Yes check in the control centre to see if you have theatre mode turned on.

This did not help, when I raise my arm the watch does not turn on automatically. I still have to press the crown button. Any other suggestions?
