Activity rings fireworks

Hello,

I recently got an Apple Watch series 6. Today i closed the all activity rings for the first time. When i closed the rings i didn’t get the fireworks animation any of the times that i closed a ring today. Previous days when i had closed the stand ring i had got a animation for that ring. The reason my be because i updated to watchOS 7.1 from 7 but i don’t know.

I would very much appreciate your help

Thanks,

Matti8u

I believe I cracked the code of why the fireworks won't show when you complete the three rings, at least in my case. It is not simply a bug. It is a systematic design failure that's too subtle for Apple to notice and fix.

First of all, I have turned on all settings that should allow the fireworks to show. So it's not about the settings.

The real reason is that, when you complete all three rings, if you also have a streak record, or achieve a 200% 300% or 400% move goal completion, the systems sends out an additional notice along with the three-ring completion notice, which cancels the fireworks.

That means, if you, for example, are on your longest streak of your workout, it's very likely that you won't see the fireworks because the system will rush to tell you that you achieve a streak before it tells you that you completed your three rings, and pooff... your fireworks won't show!

My own customized solution for to this is that, which is unfortunate, I set my Move goal to 10 calories a day, which is extremely easy to achieve, so that I can complete this goal and 200% 300% or 400% move goals in like an hour or so, as well as the longest streak, so that the systems sends out all these notifications way before I complete the rest of the rings. While my actual move goal is 600 calories a day. I then complete the stand and exercise goals later. I set the exercise goal as one hour, but I'll keep the timer of exercising even when it goes beyond one hour, until I burn 600 calories, and then I end the exercise. If by then I already complete my stand ring, then the system will show the three ring complete notice while playing the fireworks animation.

Welcome to our thread and nope, you definitely are not alone!!!! I felt crazy too lol and like you said, it must not be enough people complaining for them to do something which is sad cause it shouldn’t take for that for them to fix this. At least yours was a gift...I was going to keep bugging them because it’s too much money spent on these products for them not to work properly. Regardless of if they feel the issue is big or small. I was like this better fix itself or I will be bothering you all nonstop everyday until it’s fixed or I get my money back or something. I love Apple products and have nothing but good things to say. This was going to be my first time really talking badly about them and reconsidering if I should stay an Apple customer. I’m happy mine happened to fix itself after the recalibration, but I’m SUPER mad that you all are still having issues and that it took me days to reach someone at Apple to even instruct me to do the recalibration. This whole thing is absolutely ridiculous!

Well that’s great news! I’m glad to hear yours is working better now. Apple really dropped the ball with this one. It should have been high priority months ago! I really hope they fix this soon for all my community people on this thread. And I hope my continues to keep working properly. I get so nervous everyday that it’s going to go back to messing up. 😩

The blue stand ring is always the last one that closes for me, and I normally get the animation.(there has been a few time that i didn't get and i have no idea why). The way I understand, you should get animation after each ring is closed, and then one big Sparks for all 3. Right now my issue most of the time is not getting the red.? I am still talking with Apple support next week.

I have a similar issue, except I’ve never gotten any of the fancy notifications.

I had the original Apple Watch Sport, and it didn’t have those. When I upgrade to a series 5, I didn’t even notice that I wasn’t getting the new fancy notifications until my wife’s series 2 watch did it, and then I remembered that I should have them too!

Ive reset the entire watch and phone both since noticing this, and neither make them come back

Hi,

I purchased my Apple Watch Series 6 this week and I am really pleased with it apart from the fact I do not see the animation when I close all 3 rings. I have trawled through this thread but I can’t find an answer. It is so frustrating when I am working hard to close the rings every day.

Has anyone found the answer?

TIA

I really hope they fix the issue soon cause it’s just ridiculous!!!! The red one was the one I was having an issue with too (as far as my firework animation). I’m just thankful that calibration seemed to work. It’s just sad that some things work for the fix and other things don’t and it’s different for everybody...just an entire hot mess on Apple’s part.

I’ve been SUPER busy and been meant to come back and update on the thread, but my animations work on all my watch faces, so that’s not a problem. Like I said before, even if that was the case, that’s something Apple needs to also fix because why should I have to be on a specific watch face just for my animations to work smh.

I really hope they figure out how to fix yours soon and/or come out with an update to fix it because it’s just not far. It’s such an important part/feature for those of us that really are trying to lose weight and be motivated by seeing the celebration. I’ve never been this disappointed in Apple in my life.
