Activity rings fireworks

Hello,

I recently got an Apple Watch series 6. Today i closed the all activity rings for the first time. When i closed the rings i didn’t get the fireworks animation any of the times that i closed a ring today. Previous days when i had closed the stand ring i had got a animation for that ring. The reason my be because i updated to watchOS 7.1 from 7 but i don’t know.

I would very much appreciate your help

Thanks,

Matti8u

I believe I cracked the code of why the fireworks won't show when you complete the three rings, at least in my case. It is not simply a bug. It is a systematic design failure that's too subtle for Apple to notice and fix.

First of all, I have turned on all settings that should allow the fireworks to show. So it's not about the settings.

The real reason is that, when you complete all three rings, if you also have a streak record, or achieve a 200% 300% or 400% move goal completion, the systems sends out an additional notice along with the three-ring completion notice, which cancels the fireworks.

That means, if you, for example, are on your longest streak of your workout, it's very likely that you won't see the fireworks because the system will rush to tell you that you achieve a streak before it tells you that you completed your three rings, and pooff... your fireworks won't show!

My own customized solution for to this is that, which is unfortunate, I set my Move goal to 10 calories a day, which is extremely easy to achieve, so that I can complete this goal and 200% 300% or 400% move goals in like an hour or so, as well as the longest streak, so that the systems sends out all these notifications way before I complete the rest of the rings. While my actual move goal is 600 calories a day. I then complete the stand and exercise goals later. I set the exercise goal as one hour, but I'll keep the timer of exercising even when it goes beyond one hour, until I burn 600 calories, and then I end the exercise. If by then I already complete my stand ring, then the system will show the three ring complete notice while playing the fireworks animation.

That is super annoying and I’m so mad it’s not working for you. It was SUPER mad everyday since I had my watch and it wasn’t working, so I understand the frustration. I was especially annoyed because 2 of my friends got the same watch 1 and 2 months before I did and they had no issues, so it’s like come on. I really hope it works soon for you now that you’ve recalibrated, but that was the last option they gave me cause I took EVERY other attempt and suggestion to make it work.

Lolol really though!!!! This whole situation has been a hot mess and it’s no reason Apple shouldn’t be able to get this together quickly! I wasn’t going to stop calling and trying until it worked. I’ve been on a weight loss journey for a year now and still have a ways to go. I’ve lost 63lbs and got this watch to boost me up and keep me motivated, so I need for ALL aspects to be working...especially the firework animation!

Thank you mindful.

I about to go for a walk in the miserable weather. The watch will ask me if I want to record “the workout” so I’ll ignore that.

so fed UP with this!!

but I’m glad you’ve found an answer

I recalibrated yesterday or day before and it made no difference.

I will be listening to a podcast through watch/phone. I wonder if that will count as “using your phone”?!!

so frustrating

Hi everyone,

thought I’d come back and report on my “progress” since there has been a little...

a few days after recalibrating.

ok so now I seem to get the green firework sometimes, and the glorious all three firework - most of the time - annoyingly interrupted by the notification so the firework is over by the time I’ve dismissed that...

still haven’t seen a blue. or a red but that’s usually my last one to close.

tldr; better but not perfect. Still a bit fed up with it but not actually fuming as previously

decided to leave it alone until I’ve finished the 7 days in a row January challenge and I’ll tinker with it a bit more then

<wanders off muttering under breath>

I’m wondering the same thing too smh. They need to be and get on top of it, because this is just absolutely ridiculous at this point. I know all of us aren’t the only ones with the issue obviously. I’m sure it’s a glitch too, but they still need to fix it ASAP! My firework animation rings work on all the faces, so that’s a crazy glitch too that I’ve heard from others about the faces. This whole thing is such a hot mess SMH! 😤😠😡

Hey!!! I was thinking about you all the other day cause for a second I thought my watch stopped working again. I was like I hope my fellow community buddies got their stuff working. They seriously need to get this under control. Apple knows they can do better than this and it should have never been offered if it was going to work. I really hope they get back to you soon with a solution!

Well I need a solution whether they’re responding back or not. They just need to fix it cause it’s ridiculous. I’m glad mine starting working and so far I haven’t had anymore issues except that one day and I still feel like the hand was feature acts up. Anyways though, if mine wouldn’t have started working I would have went back to Fitbit and I would have definitely loss some faith in Apple. 😔

I wanted to video shoot the exercise completion yesterday - but gave up too early out there during my chilly winter walk. Interestingly the message showed up only about 4 minutes past the 30 mins. These things are definitely easy to miss and there is no replay either. I am now sending the fireworks imessage to my activity sharing competition friends, just to make sure they get something at least!
