Activity rings fireworks

Hello,

I recently got an Apple Watch series 6. Today i closed the all activity rings for the first time. When i closed the rings i didn’t get the fireworks animation any of the times that i closed a ring today. Previous days when i had closed the stand ring i had got a animation for that ring. The reason my be because i updated to watchOS 7.1 from 7 but i don’t know.

I would very much appreciate your help

Thanks,

Matti8u

I believe I cracked the code of why the fireworks won't show when you complete the three rings, at least in my case. It is not simply a bug. It is a systematic design failure that's too subtle for Apple to notice and fix.

First of all, I have turned on all settings that should allow the fireworks to show. So it's not about the settings.

The real reason is that, when you complete all three rings, if you also have a streak record, or achieve a 200% 300% or 400% move goal completion, the systems sends out an additional notice along with the three-ring completion notice, which cancels the fireworks.

That means, if you, for example, are on your longest streak of your workout, it's very likely that you won't see the fireworks because the system will rush to tell you that you achieve a streak before it tells you that you completed your three rings, and pooff... your fireworks won't show!

My own customized solution for to this is that, which is unfortunate, I set my Move goal to 10 calories a day, which is extremely easy to achieve, so that I can complete this goal and 200% 300% or 400% move goals in like an hour or so, as well as the longest streak, so that the systems sends out all these notifications way before I complete the rest of the rings. While my actual move goal is 600 calories a day. I then complete the stand and exercise goals later. I set the exercise goal as one hour, but I'll keep the timer of exercising even when it goes beyond one hour, until I burn 600 calories, and then I end the exercise. If by then I already complete my stand ring, then the system will show the three ring complete notice while playing the fireworks animation.

Hello! I am back. After trying everything and still

getting sporadic fireworks, I spoke to Tech support who suggested and promised unpairing/repairing would fix everything! Ha, it did for about a week and the frustration began again😡. Went back to them, and this senior tech is talking to engineer and will get back to me. Just wanted to share my status😏

My watch is always on silent mode. I get sporadic animations. Never all 3. Mostly, i am no getting the red. Ihavetried toggle notification on and off, didn’t help. Didn’t try the goal completion on/off. Will try that. I am working with tech support from Apple where i m asked to keep track of my notifications and when i get din’t get animations, so they can check the log. Honestly, i just want to have fun exercising and get all animations!😩

I am so relieved to find this thread, as I've grown more and more frustrated with Apple's lack of a fix for this problem.

I got my first Apple Watch, as a gift, last September. It's a 6 and it has been wildly inconsistent with the rings fireworks. I do get the stand and exercise firework animation every day, but never the move. (It did work perfectly for a time, when I first got the watch.) Just four times in the past few months, I’ve randomly received the all-three-at-once fireworks animation after closing all my rings. (I work hard every day to close these dang rings — am now on 149 days straight!)

I have tried every imaginable thing to get this to work, reading tons of websites and discussion boards. I've been on the phone for hours with three different Apple specialists to describe this problem, but feel crazy every time. Apparently, not enough people have had the same experience, so there’s no motivation/desire for engineers to investigate. At least, here, I can see that I'm not alone!

I've been buying Macintosh/Apple products since the 90s and this is the only time I've not been able to have a product work for me exactly as it does for the masses. It’s so disheartening.

Works pretty regular for me now. I think flipping the goal completion switch helped. Sooooo, apparently right now this is a kind of high maintenance item, requires a lot of special care and attention...

Interesting to see what the next and presumably fairly imminent iOS (+watchOS?) update will bring in this regard...I keep my fingers crossed.

The red one is actually the one for me that is the last ring for me to close in the day. That is also the one I was ALWAYS having the problem with until the recalibration. I never had a problem with blue since the day I got my watch.

You definitely should get the animation after each ring you close and then of course the colorful big spark for all 3. I’ve never got the green ring, but that’s cause I’m in the exercise mode when I close it. I of course never get the blue or green if I close it while in exercise mode. I just get the ding and notification that I’ve closed the rings.

When I’m not in exercise mode though I get the red ring (now) and the blue ring when I close those and I’ve never had an issue with the colorful sparkly big animation for closing all 3.

Ugh I understand! It’s cold and too much snow here too so I haven’t walked outside in awhile. He also told me to be a flat ground doing it, so no hills and stuff like that.

From what I remember too, I feel like that same night it still didn’t work. I think it took a day or 2 for it to start working after I recalibrated. I also think I remember turning the watch off completely and back on the day after.

I just got the new Series 6 too, and having the issue with my fireworks animation not being consistent. I try to use different faces, and never get all 3 rings! The stand one i get most of the time. Yesterday, using CA face, i got only stand one. Today using Utility, completed 2 so far, and no rings! Please suggest what is going on. I have the latest software. My first generation worked better! Alwaysngot the animation.

Give it a try! I had done literally everything but that and it won’t hurt anything to test it out. He did tell me I have to be walking outside for at least a good 20 minutes flat terrain for it to calibrate right. I usually walk 5 miles anyways, so that wasn’t a problem. I just had to pick a day it wasn’t a blizzard outside and the snow was melted enough. I hope if you try it, it works for you too!
