Activity rings fireworks

Hello,

I recently got an Apple Watch series 6. Today i closed the all activity rings for the first time. When i closed the rings i didn’t get the fireworks animation any of the times that i closed a ring today. Previous days when i had closed the stand ring i had got a animation for that ring. The reason my be because i updated to watchOS 7.1 from 7 but i don’t know.

I would very much appreciate your help

Thanks,

Matti8u

I believe I cracked the code of why the fireworks won't show when you complete the three rings, at least in my case. It is not simply a bug. It is a systematic design failure that's too subtle for Apple to notice and fix.

First of all, I have turned on all settings that should allow the fireworks to show. So it's not about the settings.

The real reason is that, when you complete all three rings, if you also have a streak record, or achieve a 200% 300% or 400% move goal completion, the systems sends out an additional notice along with the three-ring completion notice, which cancels the fireworks.

That means, if you, for example, are on your longest streak of your workout, it's very likely that you won't see the fireworks because the system will rush to tell you that you achieve a streak before it tells you that you completed your three rings, and pooff... your fireworks won't show!

My own customized solution for to this is that, which is unfortunate, I set my Move goal to 10 calories a day, which is extremely easy to achieve, so that I can complete this goal and 200% 300% or 400% move goals in like an hour or so, as well as the longest streak, so that the systems sends out all these notifications way before I complete the rest of the rings. While my actual move goal is 600 calories a day. I then complete the stand and exercise goals later. I set the exercise goal as one hour, but I'll keep the timer of exercising even when it goes beyond one hour, until I burn 600 calories, and then I end the exercise. If by then I already complete my stand ring, then the system will show the three ring complete notice while playing the fireworks animation.

EXACTLY!!!!!! It’s so sad and annoying!!! I really can’t explain why mine seemed to work after I recalibrated it, but I haven’t had any issues since then. It seems like different things work for different people which is absolutely insane. I had tried all the other suggestions prior and nothing was working until I did what the supervisor I was speaking with told me to do. I haven’t had it in silent mode to see if that’s a problem, but I’m assuming it is cause if I have it on do not disturb, I won’t get it (so that’s basically the same as silent to me lol). Definitely though after the calibration everything worked. I really hope they figure it out soon for you cause I understand your pain. I was bugging Apple soooooooo much until it fixed itself.

Ugh that’s so irritating! I’m so mad for everybody cause I wish there was one easy fix for all. Definitely reach out to them if it’s still not working. The calibration seemed to be what kicked it into action for me, but I had to go through tech support to even get that suggestion. Thank goodness it worked cause I would still be calling them to this day smh.

exactly! I have been on phone with 3 senior support now since start of February! Kept been passed from one to the other! Still no answer! The engineers have looked at my logs, then they say because I was in 2 Apple fitness exercises and that is how it is designed to not animate😁. That's clearly not the case! I never get it no matter what i do, outdoor walk, indoor walk, etc...I did my outdoor walk today, and met my move goal, no animation, just a whole bunch of notifications! What i have been noticing though, i get animation only when there is one notification-like exercise goal achieved, stand goal

achieved. If there are 2-3 notifications - no animation! Yesterday, i didnt get any animation each time i closed a ring but a whole bunch of notifications when each goal achieved! I don't know if that is how it is supposed to work, the senior support couldn't confirm! They need to fix it! Once goal

achieved, animation for that ring, then notifications follow! For those that get animations each time, can you confirm as to how many notifications you get when each ring closes! Thank you!! Sorry for the lengthy note.

yes!! Thats what i noticed! When I get more than one notification, there is never an animation. I was sick one day so i never completed my move for that day, 😍 and there goes my streak! or else i was getting, you reached ur move goal, you have the longest move streak blah blah. Since then i started getting my red animation. Comes Sunday, i will not get any because i always get 2 notifications for green- reached gaol and exercise perfect week, then also 2 for red -reached goal, move perfect week, then again 2 for blue. Then Monday comes it works all over again with the one notification! I wish Apple would

fix it. Animation first, then as many notifications. My tech support gave up in reaching

back out to me, as they have no clue and engineers don't seem to be able to pin point it and fix it.

I tried the difference faces and that didn’t make a difference. The Apple tech I was dealing with on the phone suggested to recalibrate my watch. The same day and next day I was still having issues, but the day after and so far since then, now I get the animation but my hand wash feature acts up (like doesn’t sound or buzz at times when I’m done) which makes no sense. It seems one thing fixes itself and another messes up. Seriously for the price and the hype, this should be working so much better than it is. This is really a big disappointment smh.

That’s what still frustrates me even though the calibration did seem to do the trick in my case...even if I’m using the workout app feature, I should still be able to see my green firework animation ring. It DEFINITELY defeats the purpose and again for all the money we spend and how advance Apple is, that shouldn’t be an issue for them to make that happen.

I have cellular, so I usually don’t have my phone with me anyways when I’m working out, but I’ve been on my okie before and still got my red and/or blue firework animation ring, so idk why that would mess up for you guys. That also seems like something they should be able to fix and is also ridiculous because it shouldn’t matter if I’m using my phone smh.

I definitely don’t get the green ring (or red or blue) while I’m using the workout app, but if I meet my move and step goal before or after a workout or on a day I’m not working out, I definitely have been getting my red/blue firework animation ring plus the notification after and it doesn’t matter on my end if I’m using my phone or not. This only started working for me on my end though after the calibration. I did try all the other aspects first though (powering off and on, unpaired repaired, erased data, etc.)

I love the hand wash feature and the fact it was working is what ticks me off. Although I definitely need the activity ring animations over the hand washing. I just hope that it sticks now. It’s been maybe a good week that all my fireworks show now and not just the stand one. Seriously though, everything needs to work it’s just ridiculous!

Thanks for the info about when I’m working out. I still feel like I should get a green firework ring for that though lol. But yes, I already knew I had to look within seconds. Believe me, I was and that’s how I noticed it wasn’t working. I was only getting the notification, but my stand blue ring firework animation always worked which made absolutely no sense. I was checking that watch in 1 second as soon as my dig went off lol. I was super thirsty! For now it’s been working since I did the recalibration, but yes pay more attention and see if you’re having the same issue cause I’m agree...I need to be celebrated for my efforts! That’s one of the main reasons why I bought the watch after hearing everybody talk about it lol.

i think i have to give up on this! I was getting all the animation the last few days. Even, When I used the fitness plus, i would get the notification, then when I hit done, i would get the fireworks. Or if i used the outdoor walk app, and closed my red ring, i get the notification, but when I end it, then i also got the fireworks. The stand ring has been fine for me.

Today i used the Utility watch face, and did not get any fire fireworks, just notification, after I closed all rings. Now i am

convinced there is a

glitch!
