Photos saving on iCloud but not iPhone

For some reason when I’m trying to save photos from iMessage they save to my iCloud library, but not my photos gallery. Then when I login on iCloud through the website those same photos don’t show. They show when I want to share through iMessage, but they don’t show anywhere else.

Deleted Photos reappearing in iMessages I have several photos I deleted and have permanently deleted. There are no photos in the hidden folder or the recently deleted folder. However, the deleted photos are showing up in iMessage when I click the add photo button to add a pic to a text message. When I scroll down, the pics are there somehow. How can I fix this?

‘Shared With You’ photos not showing in Photos So I’m having issues with the ‘Shared With You’ section in Photos. Several friends have sent me pictures through iMessage but when I go to my Photos app and tap on the ‘For You’ tab all that shows is a message that reads “Photos scans your library to offer content curated for you. Connect your iPhone to power overnight to continue scanning.” The annoying part is that the ‘Shared With You’ function seems to be working fine everywhere else. If someone sends me a Safari link, for example, when I open Safari the link shows up immediately under the ‘Shared With You’ section. The only way I can get the photos to appear in my Photos app is if I save them to my phone manually which isn’t a big deal but this function was working perfectly before. Whenever I received a picture through iMessage it would almost immediately show up in ‘Shared With You’ in my Photos app. I’ve searched and tried everything. I made sure I’m running the most recent software update (iOS 17), I have tried restarting my phone, I have checked to make sure that the ‘Shared With You’ option is turned on in Messages, I’ve made sure that I didn’t hide alerts for any of my contacts, I’ve signed out/signed in to my iCloud, and I even reset my phone and still it won’t work. If anyone has a solution/fix that would be great. I receive pictures and videos from friends and family all the time and it’s nice being able to see those pictures in my Photos without having to actually save them in my phone first.

Shared photos in iMessages Ever since the last update to 16.3, when attempting to “Show All” under photos in iMessage I get a message “More photos will be shown once Messages finishes indexing”. I have attempted a fix I found but that didn’t work. Apple is there a a bug causing this? And what is the fix for this problem?

One possibility is that the pictures are there, but they're not where you think. First, check your Library to see how it's sorted:

If it's sorted by Date Captured, then you'd have to know the date the picture was taken to find it. If the Library's sorted by Date Added, then it should be with all your other recent pictures.

The other confusing possibility is that you may have a filter set that you didn't know about. You can see the Filter button in the sort menu like above. So check the the Filter setting

and be sure that All Items is checked.
