After updating iPhone to iOS 18.5, the clock on standby does not update time

Since update 18.5 the clock in standby mode does not update the time, it stays still. It's like this on my 2 iPhones 15promax and iPhone Pro. How to fix this?

Hello Zachyy, thank you for responding quickly. After the procedure, the problem with the clock on standby continues and additionally the days in the calendar no longer appear. Instead of the days, only dashes appear. This occurs on all 3 iPhones. This did not happen with the previous version of iOS.

I recently missed an important appointment because I was waiting for the time to join the video conference and didn't realize that the clock wasn't working.

I noticed that in addition to getting stuck, it randomly changes the time to earlier or later. During yesterday's tests, at times it would go back a few minutes or more than an hour and some time later it would change to a time further ahead. A few hours later it would change back to a time in the past.

This app is broken and unreliable. I'm going to disable it until Apple fixes it.

Hi Zachyy,

I've done this test before with and without a VPN. I know that Apple doesn't like its users using a VPN. Many basic functions don't work properly when the VPN is on. You can't even log in to iCloud or enter the store if you have the VPN on.

I think this is absurd, because users need to take care of their local security. Apple shouldn't prevent this from happening. The place where I live doesn't have the basic freedoms for its citizens and we can't do without a VPN.

Returning to the clock problem, the iPhone's time on the home screen or in the Clock app isn't changing in any way.

The iPhone functions and apps that depend on date and time information don't have any problems.

Everything works normally.

The only problem is with this specific function. And even then, with that configuration. When the clock takes up the entire screen, it doesn't freeze or change the time. It seems to me that there's a bug in the code specifically with that configuration.

Best regards, Carlos

Hi Zachyy,

I understand your point. However, there is no way to go without a VPN.

You live in the US, right? So you don't know what it's like to live in a country where the police can knock on your door and take you to jail, without knowing if you'll ever come back, for simply saying something you think is innocent. If you knew what that's like, you wouldn't talk about leaving your iPhone without a VPN.

Anyway, I temporarily left the VPN and other dangerous apps (social networks and email) off. I tested it and the problem persists.

I reinstalled the VPN and only then the other apps.

If we go back to the description I gave of the problem, you'll see that the problem only occurs in one of the displays. This shows that even within the app, the clock is displayed normally.

It seems to me that the problem is with the code used only for that split-screen display between the clock and the calendar.

It doesn't seem like a communication problem to me.

My suggestion is that you forward the problem to the team that makes this App so that the problem can be fixed in the next version.

Unfortunately, I am abandoning the use of this feature due to lack of reliability.

Thanks,

Carlos
