iPod shuffle (2nd Gen) stuck loading in finder

Hello, I'm really upset and don't know what to do.

I was attempting to restore my iPod shuffle (2nd Gen) that I had just received. The restoration process seems to have been stuck and then maybe got interrupted I think. I tried disconnecting it and reconnecting it but now whenever I plug it in, finder is just stuck on the loading screen (see image), if I let it load long enough I get the message "the selected device could not be found."

I've tried everything I can think of (restarting the computer, disconnecting reconnecting, dismounting and remounting in disk utility) I don't know what else there is for me to try and I'm really upset about it. Please I would really appreciate anyone who might be able to help.

I FIXED IT! I'm so relieved!!

SOLUTION, Here's how I fixed it:

On my Mac, I opened 'disk utility' and located the iPod. I clicked 'erase,' and made sure the format selected was "MS-DOS (fat)." After that process was complete, I think I ejected it and re-plugged it in and opened up finder. it appeared in finder and it loaded it all properly with some screen being like "this device needs to be restored," or something like that. Then I clicked restore and let that process complete. However once it seemed to finish an error came up saying something like "this disk you attached was not readable," or along those lines. Then I ejected it and restarted my computer. After my computer restarted, I plugged in the iPod and it all appeared and worked properly! I loaded up music onto it and it's all working great now. I'm so relieved. Hopefully this helps anyone else struggling with this issue.
