Books app not showing cover images on iPad after iPadOS 17.7.8 update

after updating from os 17.7.7 which caused terrible problems to 17.7.8, Books app very slowly opens showing only gray rectangles with titles. Not showing the book cover images. How do I get my ipad to show the book cover images? Everything worked fine on the older os.

Unable to open book on Apple Books app in my iPad. For the last month, I have intermittently not been able to open books in my library. Now I can’t at all. Most of the books no longer display their covers, now simply a solid cover with the book title. I have updated to IOS 18.3.1. I have heard that the latest few updates are the cause of the problem. Books IOS 17 - blank pages being added In latest IOS 17.1 iPad updated, blank pages are being added in the middle of chapters of books. Restarting books and deleting and downloading the book does not solve the problem.
