Updated to Sequoia 15.4.1 – Logic can't now find audio files

Hi there,

I updated my MBP 16” (late 2019) to Sequoia 15.4.1 a few days ago. I have been using Logic Pro successfully for a few years until now: Logic cannot now automatically locate my audio files. They’re still there, but in order to continue with my projects I would have to choose manually every file of every project, meaning thousands of files and weeks of frustration.

The audio recording path is set to Users/miikka/music/logic/. Now, it seems to me that Sequoia has for some reason changed the OS file names on my MBP to my native language, Finnish. So, the proper path would now be Users/miikka/Musiikki/logic/. However, Logic won’t let me change the path in Recording settings, as Logic cannot locate the ”Musiikki” file. Does anyone know why? I tried to solve the problem by changing my OS language to English. The file name in question changed to ”Music”, as expected. It still didn’t work. I switched back to Finnish, but Logic won’t let me rename the path to Users/miikka/Musiikki/logic/ that would now be correct.

Could anyone please help me?

Hi!

I forgot to mention that I’m also running Logic Pro 11.1.2.

I actually partly solved this last night. Try this:

Go to Record -> Recording settings

Press ”set” and choose the proper path, that is the folder that has the proper files in it.

For me, at this stage, nothing happens. But when I quit and launch Logic again, most of my audio files are back.

Most? Bizarrely a few keep on being missing on some projects. They might be audio samples that I have copied from other projects meaning that they are at the end of another recording path. Strangely Logic hasn’t made a copy in the proper folder. Fustrating? Yes, but solvable I guess.

I have the exact same problem, but without the added complication of a native language. After I updated to Mac OS 15.4.1 Logic cannot find my Audio files, even though they are in the same location they've always been. I'm running Logic Pro X version 11.1.2. I am running on a 2023 Mac Studio M2 Ultra

Hi Kettujee, you have saved me from abject misery. I thought that I had lost all my work (years and years) because I too could not get my audio files to load. However, though I do not understand how, following your instructions for every piece of work, the majority have returned. If you were nearer I would buy you a pint. My saviour.
