'Continue watching' has disappeared from the front page of Apple TV

Hasn't happened to me. "Continue Watching" and "Watchlist" are still both there on both my ATV 4K and ATV HD, both with the latest software versions, so apparently what you call the 'basics' are still there.

Sorry but I can't do screenshots off either of my TV's screens but from the start page where you find the various apps listed like Settings, Music, Arcade, Podcasts, etc., etc. choose 'Apple TV'.

After the Apple TV app opens you'll find several sections. Scroll down a bit and you should find 'Continue Watching', 'Top Chart: Apple TV+' and scrolling further you should also find 'Watchlist'.
