VoiceOver still is kind of broken on my iPhone 13 despite the updates
I really need technical help.
Despite the fact that various iOS 18 updates have been released, I’m still having various issues with the VoiceOver accesibility screen reader on my iPhone 13, and I don’t know how to fix them.
It abruptly cuts out while reading continuously a Web page or document using the 2 fingers swipe down gesture, and when it happens, the cursor jumps to the top of the page. Sometimes the stoppage is followed by the name of the app before jumping to top, and sometimes the voice just cuts out unexpectedly without jumping. I really wanna know why this is happening, since the phone doesn’t have further performance issues.
Another annoying issue that I’m having is that VoiceOver looses speech for a moment, until eventually the voice engine starts to work again. When the speech is gone, I can still hear the VoiceOver navigation sound effects, I mean the clicks and the other VO sounds that aren’t related to speech.
The slowness while browsing the Web is the most frustrating thing ever, and it doesn’t happen just with video anymore like it used to do in the previous iOS versions, now it’s just random.
I’ve tried various fixes such as rebooting, resetting all settings, changing voices and even a DFU update using iTunes, but nothing seems to work, the problems just keep persisting despite the updates.
Actually, this is not the first post that I make complaining about it, but nobody from Apple seems to listen to us. I’ve also sent multiple feedbacks to Apple about it, but I got nowhere.
I’m shocked! Is there any workaround or plan to fix all these glitches?
Voiceover should work pretty stable and entirely errors free, is essential for all of us who have visual disabilities and rely heavily on Tex to speech features and screen readers
