Persistent Issues with Voiceover

Since iOS 17 Voiceover has too many bugs, they still aren’t fixed in iOS 18 and honestly I’m so annoyed about the stability worsening and the lack of optimisation that iOS is currently facing, regarding accessibility.

  1. Voiceover gets muted for short periods of time: When I’m doing something, Voiceover loses speech for a moment, and then comes back. Although it happens very occasionally, I find it very annoying and frustrating.
  2. Voiceover gets extremely slow while browsing the Internet, mainly if there’s a photo or a video that is playing.
  3. Voiceover also stops while reading documents and Web pages in some apps, and when it happens, the cursor jumps to the top of the page.
  4. I’ve tried everything I can think of, but all to no avail, since resetting all, factory resets, to calling Apple. Nothing fixes it, and tech support is so unresponsive.
  5. What should I do? This is not the first time I send feedback about this. Seriously! What’s happening? Why does Voiceover have become so glitchy and unreliable lately? I just wanna know.
  6. Any help is greatly appreciated.
  7. Thank you

iPhone 13, iOS 17

I’ve sent feedback to Apple multiple times, but none of the issues have been fixed. VoiceOver still cuts out unexpectedly while reading any document or webpage, the cursor jumps to top, sometimes gets pritty slow and the content descriptions aren’t read propperly.

I’ve factory restore my iPhone multiple times and set everything up as new, call Apple, send feedback and the issues still persist.

Nothing fixes it

It's not always the iOS update's fault!  Many things can cause phone problems.  If you tell people you think it's an iOS update, it might make it harder to fix or find a solution for the real issue.

Remember, the right question often leads to the solution!

iOS updates aim to enhance user experience, boost security, and fix bugs rather than disrupt core features. The majority of the issues after updates might stem from underlying, unmentioned factors. Updates won't typically alter personal data but may refine settings or features. Backup before major updates for safety. Review Apple's update details and backup advice for a smooth process.

Kindly consider checking your settings and addressing any device issues before attributing the issue to external factors. This could be a pure coincidence that the iOS update affected the iPhone functions.

Before initiating a standard iOS update, it's advisable to create a backup. Have you completed this step? If yes, proceed with the restoration from the backup.
