My M2 Mac mini causes my Acer monitor to flicker, go off and on, and sometimes causes my trackpad to not track reliably, but only after if it has been put to "sleep" instead of being "shutdown". I'm using my wireless keyboard and track pad from my mid-2012 iMac.
Try a different hdmi cable

or a new monitor
a budget monitor would be LENOVO
You're welcome.
If it starts happening again, I would replace the cable with one of the cables that I suggested above.
You have not given us much to go on.
What type of connection are you currently using...?
What is the length and quality of the cable that you are currently using...?
Mac are very picky when it come to long cheap display cables.
With that Dell U2722D I would scrap all of the cheap Dell supplied cables.
What I recommend with that display:
Is a short high speed 8K USB-C to DisplayPort 1.4 cable.
for example: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BXLDJV3Y/ref=sspa_dk_detail_3?
Or a short high speed certified 8K 2.1 HDMI cable.

My M2 Mac mini bought from Amazon in Feb 2024 with an Acer Monitor that flickers, goes on and off and sometimes has the track pad not work reliably but only after the Mac mini has been on "Sleep" since the last use. If it is "Shutdown" after the last use, it does not have this problem until later and much more infrequently. By Engineer Bill
Thanks for the reply and suggestions.
Everything was working well until I unplugged an iPhone that was recharging. I usually plug it into the power bar but I may have been using the port on the computer instead. The computer was on when I pulled it out and the screen started flickering badly. The flickering comes and goes now. The last time it started was a couple of weeks ago. I turned the brightness all the way down and it stopped. Now I have the brightness half-way up and it's okay.
FWIW, I don't think there's anything wrong with the cable. Everything was working fine until now. I haven't moved or unplugged anything since I set the computer up. When I bought the computer and monitor last year it was a major headache getting a cable that worked. The shop I bought it from is a certified Apple repair and reseller outlet, but they didn't know which one I needed and neither Dell nor Apple support knew either. I finally got one that worked from Amazon, after ordering and returning a few. It was the shortest available. I don't remember what kind of plug it has-the last time I bought a computer was in 2012 and I find the changes in ports and cables since then difficult to sort out. It doesn't help that the ports on this monitor are very awkward to access.
