How to prevent ads from overriding volume settings while playing games on iPhone?

If I silence the volume of a game, it is because I either personally don’t want to hear the annoying sounds or because I don’t want to disturb those around me. Either way, random ads or bizarre background noises (which I assume are audio only ads) ignore my settings and blast the volume. I would still like to hear my important notifications (calls or alarms), but if I turn off the volume for a specific app, it shouldn’t emit ANY sound. I’ve discussed this with my coworkers and it seems as if this isn’t an issue with Android devices; only IOS. Most of my coworkers have switched to Android. Why has this not been resolved? It seems like such a simple fix for Apple and would maintain customer loyalty and satisfaction. Upon simple research, this has been an Apple issue for YEARS. I have always seen Apple as more advanced than Android, but this is legitimately making me wonder why I still have an iPhone. Someone tell me that this is a simple fix so I don’t have to switch phones. It’s annoying, but it’s more annoying that an app can’t respect the most basic settings.
