iPhone 16 Pro Max keep going black screen and not responding

Hi there, I’m facing a problem recently with my IPhone 16 Pro Max. It happened twice already and I’m not sure why. All of a sudden it goes black screened not responding to any demand or button. I’ve tried the up-down volume buttons and then the switch off button but the response comes after the 4th try. Can someone explain why this happens and if there’s something I can do to fix it? The device has been purchased 5 months ago.

Hello Theodora_S,

Glitches happen. When you get a black screen:

Press and quickly release the volume up button.
Press and quickly release the volume down button.
Press and hold the side button until you see the Apple logo (could be as long as 30 seconds)

The timing is a little critical, you may have to try it several times. See this for more detail:
