Apple Intelligence not working on iPhone 15 Pro Max after iOS 18.4 update

I can confirm the process has completed and now works.

The “Downloading” text is no longer visible at the bottom of the screenshot.

It doesn’t take too long to install, about 10 minutes or so, but you are flying blind for that period.

I installed iPhone OS 18.4.

The in settings I went to Apple Intelligence & Siri and turned it on.

It did not work immediately, but spent quite some time downloading the AI models (see the first screenshot).

No progress bar was visible.

After about 15 minutes or so, the message about Downloading AI models disappeared (See the second of my screenshots above).

When the download was complete I was suddenly able to use it.

It’s not clear what is going on, but it should work now in the EU.

It could be that AI models are downloading in the background (you have to be connected to WiFi & power).

This appears to take time and the progress is not clearly visible.

I’m in the middle of activating it and hope that when it’s done, the functionality we seek will become available.

Right now, we’re in the same boat.
