Connect new M4 Studio to Apple Display using HDMI

I would like to connect the new M4 Studio to the current apple studio display using the HDMI port on the CPU using an adapter - is this possible?

That is not possible. The 27" 5K Apple Studio Display requires Thunderbolt input – and as a rule, you're not going to find adapters that can go from HDMI to the more flexible, capable Thunderbolt standard.

So, assuming that you are not using a Thunderbolt dock, you would plug the 27" Apple Studio Display into one of the USB-C (Thunderbolt) ports on the back of the M4 Max Mac Studio.

If you are facing the back of the Mac Studio, the USB-C (Thunderbolt) ports are the four on the far left-hand side – underneath the lightning bolt symbol.

Do not plug the display into the M4 Max Studio's front-panel USB-C ports. Those are USB-only and do not support Thunderbolt.
