Can I connect an external HDD with a USB-C cable to the Thunderbolt 4 port on my Mac Mini?

I will be connecting a 2TB Seagate external hard drive to my M4 Mac Mini to store and work on files from, can I connect it using one of the Thunderbolt 4 ports on the back? I'd like to keep the USB-C ports on the front available for my USB-C to USB-A hub and easy access for other accessories.

What adapter do I use to connect a thunderbolt 2 Mac to a hard drive. I have a 2014 MacBook Pro with thunderbolt 2. I want to go back-and-forth between this MacBook and my M1 Mac mini. And I can't get a good answer via Google and I'm getting frustrated because of time. Here is a picture of the hard drive enclosure I am using. I have a 1 TB SSD. Can you guys recommend something that will match me up? I'm going to use this for Final Cut Pro as well. I'm hoping the thunderbolt two and the USB-C can handle the data transfer.

Have you tried connecting the HDD with a USB-C cable to your TB4 ports and determine if it works? That is low effort over waiting for an answer here.

If I can attach a Crucial X9 Pro SSD formatted as APFS to the back of my M4 Mac Mini Pro, you certainly should be able to attach that HDD with USB-C.
