Remove Stickers from Emoji Keyboard

When you click on the emoji button with the latest update 18.3.1 there are 2 obnoxious new stickers buttons that I have no interest in ever using. Turning off the stickers feature no longer removes this button from the emoji keyboard, which is ridiculous. People keep saying to delete the stickers but don’t explain or show how to do so. Holding on them to delete does not work. I don’t want the buttons there at all. I just want it the way it was with the recently used and then the emoji buttons, that’s it. I’m on iPhone 16 pro. Not sure why it shows my old phone.

If stickers are already in the Frequently Used section of the emoji keyboard, they remain accessible regardless of the toggle setting. The "Send Stickers from Emoji Keyboard" option likely only takes effect when stickers are no longer in the Recent/Frequent section—essentially preventing them from reappearing or being sent directly from the emoji keyboard.

So, in practice:

  • If you've recently used stickers, they'll still show up in Frequently Used and can be sent regardless of the toggle setting.
  • Once those stickers are pushed out of the Frequently Used section, the toggle should start working as expected.

This behavior makes it seem like the toggle isn't doing anything at first, but it just depends on whether stickers are still lingering in the Recent History.

A workaround. If you manually remove stickers from the Stickers list, they will also disappear from the Frequently Used section of the emoji keyboard, allowing the "Send Stickers from Emoji Keyboard" toggle to take effect immediately.

How to Remove Stickers:

  1. Open the Messages app.
  2. Tap the Stickers button.
  3. Long-press on a sticker and look for a Remove or Delete option.
  4. Alternatively, go to Settings > Stickers and remove sticker packs.

Once the stickers are gone from Frequently Used, you should notice the toggle working as expected.

I am referring to the 2 buttons that just showed up in the keyboard next to the recently used emoji button. I have never. Ever used a sticker nor will I. You cannot click to remove these. As you can see, the one button simply takes you to an “Open Stickers” option which simply open up your emojis when pressed. Everything I’m seeing says this was a mistake on the iOS 18.3.1 and hopefully they are fixing it on the next release.
