“Apple Music Keeps Launching All By Itself: (1Mac M1, 2021, OS 15.3.1) Apple Music keeps launching itself and playing at random times, but oftentimes when I do anything with the USB input ports. This is extremely annoying. It will also start randomly playing YouTube videos, should I happen to have one displaying in a browser window. How can I exorcise the demon from my iMac?”

Troubleshooting a Music App:
A. Boot in Safe Mode: Start Up your Mac in Safe Mode - Apple Support. In Safe Mode, Login Items do not run at login, certain preferences are set aside, and damaged system files are then reset. So, once booted in to Safe Mode, wait 30 seconds, and then boot up normally, attempting another update install.
A. Create New User:
For temporary use, create a new Administrator. See what happens when you log in to it. Do you still get this issue? If not, then is it a misconfiguration in the current user. If so, then you'd likely have to resinstall the macOS.
C. Reinstall the macOS:
Nothing would be lost. It's just that misplaced items would be placed back to where they should be and corrupt system files would be replaced by clean files. Go Here: Reinstall macOS - Apple Support. Important: Prior to installing an update or performing a reinstallation, to prevent data loss, be sure to Back up your Mac with Time Machine.
D. Report this as an Update Bug to Apple:
Do your Part: Inform Apple of your feedback of this issue. Include how you’ve troubleshot this, and your results. Apple wont get back to you directly, but the more feedback they receive from its users, the more likely they will know what needs to be fixed, and what their customers prefer in updates, and future macOS versions to come.
- Go Here: Feedback - macOS - Apple
- Select: "Bug Report" for the "Feedback Type"
- Select: "Software/Firmware Update" for the "Feedback Area"
- Proceed from there as necessary
