How do I fix shared profile image on iPhone contacts with different initials

If I change my profile image on my iPhone (e.g. “A”), this same image also gets applied to the contact profile that I have for my son.

• We don’t have Family Share
• We have separate contact profiles with different info
• Could it have anything to do with us both having the same initials?

How do I fix the problem?
