iPhone SE running IOS 18.3. Visual lookup no longer works. Used to be able to enable in Siri & Search, but cannot find any reference. Photos that had plants identified no longer do.

Same here. iOS 18.3. iPhone 15 ProMax. Visual lookup broke sometime in the last iOS upgrade. Was able to fix it by toggling the “show related content” switch. But with iOS 18.3.1, visual lookup is broken again. Show related content is already selected. I’ve tried turning apple intelligence off and on and off again. I’ve changed search engine defaults and language defaults. No avail. Previously identified objects are no longer identified either.

I'm pretty sure it used to be at Settings > Apps > Photos > Apple Intelligence & Siri, but no longer.
Have you enabled "Show Related Content" in Photos?
Youmay want to check the Settings that open when you open the Photos.app, then tap your user icon for recommended Content. the upper right corner and scroll down to the settings .
Also check in the Settings.app the Settings > Apps > Photos > Apple Intelligence & Siri.
Photos has been removed to the "Apps" menu at the bottom the Settings.
Enable the checkmark for visual Search at the bottom of the Photos Settings.
Photos may need to scan your Photos Library again. So it may take a while until you are seeing the visual lookup again.
Already on, as is Enhanced Visual Search.
