Yes, I understand that and why I said I needed coffee. I should have caught they are not using the Action button on their phone, but are instead using the side power button.

I just tested the Action Button on my iPhone and it's working exactly as expected. I have a Shortcut set up for ChatGPT, which when I chose that the Action Button opens ChatGPT. It works on Magnifier, Silent and every other option. I don't use Perplexity, so I can't test if you can choose Perplexity as a shortcut option for the Action Button?

Have you Force Restarted your iPhone, which often fixes odd little things --> Force restart iPhone - Apple Support

It sounds like you’re confusing Action button with Side button (power button). Action button is above up volume button. Side button is on right side of iPhone when looking at screen.

Apple doesn’t currently allow replacing Siri as the default voice assistant. Siri is tightly integrated into the system and can’t be swapped out for other assistants like Perplexity AI, ChatGPT, Google Assistant, etc.

I think you're right. I just reread the first post and it does appear they may be using the side power button. Coffee. Need Coffee!
