Software Issues with iPhone 15 Plus on iOS 18.2 (even faced on 18.0)

Hello,

I am currently experiencing several issues with my iPhone 15 Plus running iOS 18.2. These issued were present even in iOS 18.1 and 18.0. I wanted to reach out to see if other users are facing similar challenges, and to get some advice on how best to proceed. Below are the issues I'm encountering:

  1. Random Frame Rate Drops & UI Glitches: There are noticeable frame rate drops and Animation/UI glitches, especially while scrolling the home screen or app pages, and within apps like Google Maps or social media platforms. The overall smoothness of the device feels compromised.
  2. Incorrect Battery Stats (Screen On Time): The battery stats for Screen On time are inaccurate, showing significantly more time spent on both the Home and Lock screens than what is actually experienced in real life.
  3. Excessive Battery Drain (Idle State): The phone experiences around 10% battery drain overnight while in an idle state, even though the phone has Dual SIM activated.
  4. Proximity Sensor Issue: When the phone is placed in a pant pocket, incoming call screens often freeze due to an apparent proximity sensor issue. The only way to resolve this is by pressing the lock button, declining the call, and unlocking the phone again, after which the touch functionality resumes.

I wanted to check if other users are experiencing similar problems and to see if there are any potential workarounds in the meantime. Point no 2 and 3 are not connected to each other and are independent issues.

Has anyone else encountered these issues, and if so, have you found any solutions? I’m also curious if anyone has had success with any interim fixes or advice until an update is released.

Pls find attached Screenshots for references. Anyone who is using anyother iPhone series but is on iOS 18.xx can also pls check and revert.

Thank you for your help!

No, you can’t overcharge a modern device and battery. Special circuits in the charging system and individual cells in the battery communicate with the charging circuitry to maintain optimum performance. I literally plug my iPhone in every night when I go to bed.

Here’s my battery health as of today and 4 months of use.

Yes i am updated to the currently latest update 18.2.1, and still facing the same issues.

Will keeping the phone on charge not over charge the phone or harm the battery heath in any way ??? This drain happens sometimes, while normally its just 2-3 % drop in idle overnight. There is some software bug that is causing the issue.

What about the other issues especially the Home and Lock (Screen On Time) wrongly shown ???
