Every time I try to insert an image, I get the message: 'The image "<image name>" couldn't be inserted.' This happens both when I use 'Insert > Choose...' and when I try drag and drop. Can you please help me fix this? Keynote is unusable for me this way, and I really need it for work purposes.

Keynote does not support any image formats. I tried JPG, JPEG, PNG, and HEIC, but it shows that the format is unsupported. Additionally, exporting the file as PDF or JPG is not working, and it constantly shows an 'Autosave unsupported' error.

Does inserting an image from your Photos library work?
View -> Show Photo and Video Browser -> drag an image to your slide
It's not a solution, but a troubleshooting step to help identify where the problem may be.
What kind of image file are you trying to insert? What’s the file extension name?
