iPhone 15 Plus battery capacity drop after iOS 18.1 update

After upgrading to iOS 18.1 (22B83), my 7-month-old iPhone 15 Plus's maximum battery capacity has reduced by 99% with a cycle count of 113. My avg screen time of 10 days is 4hs. Is it same for other users as well?

Battery capacity on average will drop 1% for every 25 charge cycles. So your current capacity should be 100-113/25, or 95%. Your iPhone is performing much better than its specifications for battery capacity.

So, Maximum Capacity is now 99%, correct?

You are aware that Battery Health normally declines about 1% for every 25 Charge Cycles, correct?

So 113 Charge Cycles divided by 25 = 4.52%. Maximum Capacity should therefore be in the 95-96% range.

Your battery is doing much better than average. I wish that my battery was doing anywhere near as good as yours, but mine is just average.

WOW! That's terrific. If, after 7 months, you have only lost 1% in Battery Health with 113 cycles, you should send flowers to Apple. Your health is far better than it should be. On average, it's common to lose about 1% in battery health per month or 1% per every 25 cycles. Given the cycle count and how many months you've owned your iPhone it would be more common if you Battery health was 96%, but it's not. It's 99%. So count your lucky stars.

One thing you can count on is Battery Health will continue to decline and there is NO WAY to stop it. When the day comes that the health of your battery dips to 80% which will come if you own the phone long enough, it will then time to pay Apple to replace the battery. Until then, being concerned about the normal aging and resulting decline in battery health is pointless.

I have the same situation on my 15ProMax. I put it to charge to check, and yes it only goes to 99%. Had issues with my series 9 watch not allowing charging on a working charger and had to send it in. Service team was horrible with me, and took nearly 3 hours to get them to send me a box for repair. They’re really starting to drop the ball. Not the same apple company of 15 years ago.

What is being discussed isn’t the battery health.

It certainly was. You told us in your original post that......my 7-month-old iPhone 15 Plus's maximum battery capacity......

Maximum Battery Capacity settings are found as follows:

Settings > Battery > Battery Health & Charging > Maximum Capacity

I'm sorry, but we can only go on the information that you provide. We are terrible mind readers.
