Sirius XM AppleTV App - streaming stops after 2-3 minutes

According to Reddit users, the developer's at SiriusXM added a new app and did NOT update the existing app. To that end, you’ll need to download the new app for all to work correctly. I’m not sure of the sequencing (ie download, delete old install new, etc…) to avoid sign-in and/or keeping favs. I’m about to drop their service (customer sat is the worst).

An update… I went back to the Apple TV and Apple TV, App Store, and realized that when I reloaded the Sirius app, it reloaded the old app… You have to specifically select the new version… Working now

I have the same issue. I made sure that the latest version of software is on the apple tv and then deleted the sirius app. I then went to the app store to download the app and could not get the account to verify the down load. I then picked a random app from the store and it authorized through my iphone and installed. I then went back to the sirius app and I was then able to get it installed. I then had to re enter my sirius account information. After doing that, I was able to stream some music, but after 2 to 3 minutes, the audio output stops just like before. On the screen it looks like the station is playing, but there is no sound. Pause / play does not restore the audio. Going to a different sirius channel restores audio but it stops again. Just to make sure it was not an apple tv issue, I streamed a netflix video and thwre were no issues or dropouts. This is definitely a Sirius XM app issue that Sirius needs to fix.

Where do you find the new version to specifically select? I only see one version available. Background - I was having issues on two of three Apple TV devices where Sirius would play for about 3-4 seconds then skip to next song. Finally on one of the affected devices, I deleted the app. However, it deleted it from ALL my Apple TVs. I searched for Sirius, found what looks like new one (and only one available, but it is version 7.10.5) and there is the little cloud icon like I can re-download. If this is a completely different app, why would it have the cloud icon on it? When I click on that, it spins and never installs. Yesterday I let it go all afternoon, nothing. I contacted Sirius over chat, and they told me to open the app on my phone, then authorize it on the tv, but that made no sense as the app is not currently installed, there is nothing to authorize coming up on the tv. They gave me a number to call for help. Haven't called yet but was searching for similar issues online to see if there are any other suggestions.

7.10.5 is the latest version and it is working for me. They may have removed the old one, as I just checked and now see only the latest version in the APP store. Note that when I could not get the download to work from the Apple TV APP store, I went to a completely different random free APP and downloaded it, which required authorizing from my iphone to complete the download. I was just trying to see if it was an Apple problem or a Sirius XM app problem. I then went back to the Sirius APP and this time the download started and completed in less than a minute.
