Apple TV+ on Fire TV Stick 4K and pausing programs

Hi, I wonder if anyone else has this issue with an Apple TV+ program on a Fire TV Stick 4K. I will be watching a program in Apple TV+ and I pause it. Come back a few minutes later and it has timed out and gone back to the main screen for the program I was watching. When I go to continue the program it starts from the beginning. It does not continue from where I left off. Is that just inherent to the program? I have to start at the beginning and and fast forward every single time to continue my program.
