Having a very big Issue with Messages and New Iphone 16 pro

Yesterday, I switched from T-Mobile to Verizon and got the new iPhone 16 Pro with it (my old phone was the 14). I noticed that my iMessage isn't set up, and my old phone and new phone haven't fully switched over. I'm still receiving messages on my old phone instead of the new one, and it's like my old phone is still fully functioning. It feels like my new phone is a knockoff. I would really appreciate some help.

iPhone 14, iOS 17

Did you log out of iMessage and FaceTime on the old phone before switching to the new phone? It sounds like you didn’t.

On the old phone:

  • Go to Settings/Messages/Send & Receive, tap on your Apple ID and log out.
  • Go to Settings/FaceTime, tap on your Apple ID and log out.

Wait about 5 minutes

On the new phone:

  • Go to Settings/Phone and verify that your shown phone number is correct, and fix it if it isn't
  • Go to Settings/Messages and sign in
  • Go to Settings/FaceTime and sign in
