iPhone Mirroring Not Working for Anyone Else?

Hi everyone,

I’m having trouble getting iPhone Mirroring to work. I have a 2021 MacBook Pro 14-inch with the M1 Pro (16GB RAM) running Sequoia 15.0, and an iPhone 15 Pro Max on iOS 18.0. Both meet all the requirements for iPhone Mirroring.

When I launch the iPhone Mirroring app on my Mac, I see the intro screen that says “Your iPhone on Your Mac,” then I click ‘Continue.’ The screen briefly flashes “Unlock Phone,” but then it switches to “Unable to Connect iPhone” with the message: “Make sure ‘My iPhone’ is powered on and near this Mac, with Bluetooth and Wi-Fi enabled.”

I’ve restarted both devices multiple times and tried again, but still no luck. Clicking ‘Try Again’ hasn’t resolved the issue. Both devices are powered on, near each other, and have Bluetooth and Wi-Fi enabled.

Has anyone else encountered this issue? Any tips on how to fix it?

Thanks in advance!

I am having a similar issue. My MacBook's IOS is Sequoia 15.0. My iPhone 13Pro is on IOS 18.0. The iPhone Mirroring app is on my MacBook. The devices have been restarted. But I always get stuck on this screen, and the setup goes no further.

Is this a widespread problem, or are Hoobers80 and I just unlucky?

I have been trying to use the iPhone Mirroring feature since upgrading to IOS 18. It wont work on iPad or iMac. Both of which have the latest software. All three devices meet the standards listed by Apple. When i try to use it, it tell me to unlock my phone, the Lock Screen shows up on my phone. I enter the unlock code, then the iMac or iPad show it trying to connect for about 30 seconds. It then shows a message stating it was unable to find my device. 2 options offered. Try again or try later. My brothers are also having the same issue. Neither can get the function to work. So obviously Apple has some work to do!!

Check the system requirements. Not all iMacs that can run Sequoia can do iPhone Mirroring. Must have Apple Silicon or a T2 Security Chip (see below).

  • MacBook Pro introduced in 2018 through 2020, excluding MacBook Pro (13-inch, M1, 2020)
  • MacBook Air introduced in 2018 through 2020, excluding MacBook Air (M1, 2020)
  • iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, 2020) and iMac Pro
  • Mac mini (2018)
  • Mac Pro introduced in 2019

Here is a link to the requirements

Are all the sysregs for iPhone mirroring in this article checked? It seems a lot::

It shows both the Mac and the phone must be on the same Apple ID and that VPNs and third-party security software are a problem.
