Iphone Mirroring not working

I have just updated my iphone 11 to IOS 18.1 and I am trying to use the Iphone mirroring on my M2 MacBook Air (2022). When I open the app on my macbook it prompts me to the two screens that say 'your iphone on your mac.' When I try to continue through the second screen the window glitches showing the first screen for a fraction of a second then does nothing and does not allow me to proceed to mirror my iphone. Both devices are up to date with updates. I checked wifi, bluetooth, airdrop, and have restarted both devices. Please let me know what I do to utilize the feature. Thank you.

I updated my iPhone 14 to IOS 18.1 and tried to use iPhone mirroring on my24-inch, M1, 2021. When I opened the iPhone Mirroring app on my iMac a screens comes up that says "Your Phone on Your Mac" with the choice to either setup later or continue, the next screen says when I hit continue "Unable to Connect to iPhone", but before it says that there is another screen that flashes up for a second then does nothing and does not allow me to proceed to mirror my iPhone. Both devices are up to date with updates. I checked wifi, bluetooth, airdrop, and have restarted both devices. Is iPhone 14 compatible with this new mirroring feature? If so, I would really like to use it. I noticed AppleBestPaul says it won't work in the EU, I'm in the US so there must be something I'm missing in the setup??? Thank you.
