Visual Lookup in Photos app not working after iOS 18 Update
The letter "I" with the circle around it is still there but doesn't identify anything.

Works for new taken photos when language is set to English (not in Dutch - if ‘i’ is clicked there will be a search light go over the photo but the icon doesn’t change to give more information) (change of Region doesn’t make it work). Google Photos without installed Google Search works with the lens icon for all photos. So Apple has to do something…

Ok, I have been through this a few times as a noob going to the WRONG place to correct this issue.
I am hoping that this will help some people because it finally worked for me.
Go to your Settings app and scroll down to find Search. Go into search and turn on "Show Related Content".
I was going under Photos > Search to try and fix this and that ain't the right place.
Hope the image below helps.
Special thanks to LordCthulhu8 who made this clear to me.
I found it, in Settings > Search > turn ON Show Related Content. Also, make sure you have a language that is supported. I already had English and Spanish, and those are supported.
Thank you. The show related content restored my visual content look up. i had to turn off my phone after I turned on the “show related content “ to make it work.
i have iPhone 15 plus but when the iOS updated to 18.3.1 the visual look up was lost.
Found the solution !!! Go to ‘settings’ then ‘search’ then ‘show related content’ turn ‘on’ and hey Bingo !!
Go to Settings>Search then make sure Show Related Content is set to On. It just worked for me, and I can FINALLY decode laundry symbols. (it's been a few months, so you may have figured this out already)
iOS 18 separated Siri & Search. Go to Settings—> Search—> Turn on ‘Show Related Content’
Found this fix and it worked for me. Settings - Search - Show related content (turn on)
I got confused by trying to search for 'show related content' - which doesn't work!
Here's what you need to do:
Worked for me!
See pic below, 'Look Up Plant'
Go to- Settings>Apps>Photos>”Reset People & Pets Suggestions”
This is what worked for me…
Go to settings, scroll down to "Search" and click on it. Once opened, turn on the option "show related content".
I'd like to know who / how mine got turned off in the first place.
I have the same issue. Ever since I installed iOS 18, the Visual Lookup in Photos app does not work. I have tried going into Settings > Apps > Photos > Search > and turned on "Show Content in Search" and it did nothing.
I went on my iMac running 15.1.1 (24B2091), launched the Photos app, and guess what? The Visual Lookup works great. So I hope Apple can fix this with iOS 18.2 when it releases. Visual Lookup is far more useful on my iPhone.
Visual Look Up still works for me with iOS 18.
See especially the second sentence under item 1 here.
Use Visual Look Up to identify objects in your photos and videos on iPhone - Apple Support
See my solution and then don’t forget to restart

That's not true for me. A friend texted me a picture of her and her dog, and it identifies Boston Terrier. Another with her cat says Cat.
