iMessage Notifications not showing sender name

Starting this afternoon, for no reason at all, my iMessage notifications just say “Messages” in place of the sender name. The sender contact photo is still on the notification. And yes, I know I can turn on the message preview which will show the message. However, I have ALWAYS had my message previews off and it ALWAYS still had the contact name in the notification - I have screenshots to prove it. This literally just started today. Any idea how to get the contact name back onto iMessage notifications without showing the message preview?
