To reset the MacBook, follow these steps -

  1. Power on the Mac while holding the CMD+R keys until the  logo shows up, or for 10 seconds.
  2. Once it loads (it will take longer than a usual boot), select Disk Utility.
  3. Select the drive/partition with macOS installed (in your case, there will probably only be 1).
  4. Select 'Erase' and make the format 'macOS Extended - Journaled'
  5. Depending on the amount of data on the drive, this could take a while.
  6. Once it's done, click OK and quit Disk Utility by clicking Disk Utility > Quit Disk Utility
  7. Now from the main screen, click 'Reinstall macOS' and follow the instructions. The install might take a while.
  8. Once it's done installing, you're done. The Mac is fully wiped.
