Now that the Apple TV Movie app is gone and all tv shows are movies are mixed together, there is no way to browse the genre of documentary in movies. In fact if you search documentary you’re given just two options to scroll through: 28 tv shows and 28 documentaries.
How does one browse the thousands of of movies in the documentary genre? And I’ll add: without needing to scroll or otherwise also browse tv shows.
What am I missing?
100% it’s frustrating. They have every sub genre but no documentary sections except the top few.

The initial poster is correct. Searching only results in very very few selections now
Netflix & PBS. Apple is better for fiction…
Try the Search tab in the Apple TV app. Use the Documentary tile there, else search by ‘documentary’ as search keyword.
Apple TV used to show all documentary including PBS, not its very limited.
Where are all the documentaries on Apple TV?
