Device switching feature has bugs!

I cannot turn off device switching for my new Airpods Pro (2nd gen). It keeps randomly switching between my iPhone 12 Pro and my iPad Pro 2020 when the 2 devices are playing Youtube! I did try the airpods option "Connect to this iphone > when last connected to this iphone" on iPhone, it didn't help, and I did try forgetting the Airpods Pro on the iPad - however, it forgot the Airpods also on my iPhone for no obvious reason at all, so I had to re-pair.

Bugs in summary:

  1. Forgetting the Airpods on iPad should NOT affect Airpods on iPhone as those are 2 different devices.
  2. "When last connected to this iphone" option should work as described.

Apple should add a function to turn off automatic switching whatsoever! I want my Airpods to only play on my iPhone - without random switching!

I have this problem too. I initially thought this could be fixed by turning off "Announce notifications" entirely on the apple watch. The problem still persisted; my apple watch will randomly lose Bluetooth connection with my phone (while both are still on my person), and the Airpods will then connect to the watch for some reason. This happens at least a dozen times per day for me, when both devices are in close proximity. If I leave my phone behind for a run, music works perfectly. I also turned off the "connect when last connected to this iphone" to turn off automatic switching, but no.
