Apple Watch SE battery not lasting throughout a hike

My Apple Watch SE has a battery health of 88%. I normally exercise for 1-2 hours during the day, do 10,000 steps and it still has around 20% battery when I go to bed.

However when I try to record a long walk or hike, it dies between 4-5 hours in. I have it on battery saving mode the entire time! Is it time for a new watch? I really need it to last at least 6/7 hours when I’m hiking.

Thanks!

Although the battery isn’t quite at the percentage for replacement (80% and below)the shorter life you’re getting is probably at least partially related to it. As far as if you need a new watch it depends on what your budget is. If you can afford a new one it might benefit you to upgrade. And if hiking for long trips is something you do often you may want to consider the Ultra series.
