My Apple Watch battery drains quickly after the latest update

Since the last update, my Apple Watch battery has been draining more and more quickly. Having charged it fully last night and did not put it back on my wrist until very late, I find that by three pm it is drained again. What is happening here?

Unpairing the watch and connecting it again to the iPhone helped in my case to get the battery life back to normal:

You should try shutting it down / turning it off. You can also try a hard reset on it. If there is an issue with the software, it’ll be corrected in the next update.
